While the heroin and opioid epidemic has been front and center in the US, it appears that cocaine is making a comeback. The 2015 amphetamine users increased globally, reaching 37 million, and new cocaine use expanded to 2 percent of the US population last year. Unlike for opioids and alcohol, there is no FDA medication approval for psychostimulants.
